[語法][from の目的語としての前置詞・副詞] from はしばしば前置詞・副詞(句)を目的語とする： 〜 above [below] 上[下]から / 〜 behind the door ドアの後ろから / 〜 inside the church 教会の中から / 〜 under the table テーブルの下から / choose 〜 among these books この本の中から選ぶ《◆choose 〜 these books, choose among these books も可》/〜 after the war until the present time 戦後から現在に至るまで/The birds came 〜 over the sea. その鳥は海を渡って来た. ただし, from in, from on の連語は((まれ))なので次の例ではそれぞれ後者の文が普通： She came 〜 in the room. → She came from [out of] the room./The book fell 〜 on the desk. → The book fell from [off] the desk.
