・I missed the point of his remark. 彼の話の要点をつかみかねた.

5a …がない[いない]のに気付く.

・I missed my umbrella from the stand. 傘立てに入れた傘がなくなっているのに気付いた.

b いつもの…が足りない[欠けている]のを寂しく思う; …のない[いない]のを悔む[のに困る, のに不自由する].

・I shall miss our pleasant talks when you leave. 君がいなくなれば今までのような愉快な話もできなくなるね.
