・It was proposed that we should act (＝we act, we acted) at once. すぐ行動すべしと提案された.

・The king gave orders that the prisoner (should) be set free. 王は囚人を放免せよと命令した.

★《米》 ではこの場合通例 should を用いないで仮定法現在の形にするが, 《英》 でも should を省略する傾向が出てきた.
