5 《口語》

a 〔…を〕固執する, あくまで守る, 〔…に〕忠実である 〔to, by, with〕.

・stick to a contract, decision, program, etc.

・stick to one's beliefs, promise, words, etc.

・stick to what one has said 自分の言ったことを固執する.

・He never sticks to the point. 彼の話は必ず脱線する.

・He stuck by his first account. 最初の弁明をあくまでも翻さなかった.

・That's my story and I'm sticking to it. 以上 私の述べたことを変えるつもりはありません.

b 〔仕事などを〕着実にやる, 倦(_う)まず努める; 我慢する (persevere) 〔at, to, with〕.

・stick at one's job, studies, etc.

・Stick to [with, 《口語》 at] it! へこたれるな, あくまでもやり通せ.
