・a sure sign 確かな徴候.

・sure proof 確かな証拠.

・a sure and certain hope (根拠のある)確かな希望 (cf. Prayer Book, the Burial of the Dead).

・sure grounds for belief 信念の確実な根拠.

・make assurance doubly sure 念には念をいれる (cf. Shak., Macbeth 4. 1. 83).

・One thing is sure. (他は知らず)一事だけは確かだ.

・Death is sure. 死は避けられない.

4 〈やり方・効果など〉間違いのない, 確かな, 確実な (certain, unfailing); 〈人など〉信頼できる, 当てになる (reliable, dependable).
