・swear by [to] God [Heaven] 神にかけて[の前に]誓う.

・swear by [on, upon] one's honor [the Bible] 名誉にかけて誓う[聖書に手を置いて宣誓する].

3a 宣誓して証言[陳述]する.

・swear to a person's identity 本人に相違ないと宣誓して証言する.

b [通例, 否定・疑問構文で] 《口語》 〔…と〕誓って言う, 断言する (vow) 〔to〕.

・I wouldn't [couldn't] swear to it [having seen him there]. そうである[そこで彼を目撃した]と断言する自信はない.

・Can you swear to its authenticity? 君はそれが本物であると誓えるか.
