★not…anybody は nobody の意味となるのが普通であるが, 次の例では, (a) の意味のほかに, (b) のように, anybody が everybody と同意となり, not…anybody で部分否定を表すこともある; (b) の場合には文を下降上昇調で発音する (cf. any adj. 3): He doesn't lend his books to 〜. (a) だれにも本を貸さない; (b) だれにでも本を貸すとは限らない.

・He is taller than anybody else. ほかのだれよりも背が高い.
