[語法] (1)one を受ける代名詞は((英))では one, one's だが尊大で堅苦しい言い方. ((米))では he, his で受けることが多かったが, 最近では, he or she, his or her, one, one's, they, their などで受けるのが普通. 次のように((略式)) you で呼応することも珍しくない： O〜 can't be too careful, can you? 人はいかに注意してもしすぎることはないね. しかしもっと普通には We [You] are usually blind to our [your] own faults. のようにいう. (2)one's, oneself は one が前に出ていなくても用いることができる： It is easy to lose one's way in Venice. ベネチアでは道に迷いやすい / It is not always easy to amuse oneself on holiday. 休日を楽しむのは必ずしも簡単なことではない.
