[語法] (1)one と呼応して単数動詞で受けるのが正しい. 複数名詞に引かれて複数動詞を用いることもあるが((非標準))( →【名】 2). cf. O〜 or two of the girls were late. ( →or 【接】 1[語法]). (2)「one of the [those]+複数名詞+関係詞」では, the (only) one of ... のように限定のある場合以外, 節中の動詞は複数動詞が原則： She was 〜 of the girls who were late in coming. ただし, この場合も one に引かれて単数動詞のこともある. いずれも標準語法. 単数呼応は特に先行詞が the only one の時に生じやすい： Bill is the only 〜 of the applicants who has the ability to speak English and Japanese. ビルは応募者のうちでただひとり英語と日本語が話せる.
